Hi Peter, Sorry for the lag in response. We’re happy to include community announcements folks send to us. The requirements are that they should be of interest to folks in one of our 3 neighborhoods (Flushing, Sunset Park, and LES/Chinatown) and particularly if the event or program is related to something (even broadly) having to do with neighborhood change, development, or gentrification. Thanks for checking in!
I couldn’t find a “contact us” link so am hoping someone gets to read this some time very soon.
I left the military to have my children after being stationed in Seoul, Korea for a year. I have lived in Sunset Park for just under 20 years now and the 8th Avenue Asian community is still some what of a mystery to me. I was the original community organizer at Neighbors Helping Neighbors back in 1996. To date, I am still a community organizer working to preserve what is left of the project based section 8 developments in Sunset Park. I would like to meet with one if not all of your writers focusing on Sunset Park. By all means visit my web site at http://www.tenantinfo.ning.com.
This is a great project! The writers are very informative and give good insight! I look forward to hearing from you and reading more! MDO
